A cabinet of minerals worn as a jacket: the Hermès Minéraux carré, its amethysts, tourmalines and quartz points drawn across cream silk twill, cut into a reversible blouson with a tall khaki rib collar.
The Piece
Hermès has turned its carrés into outerwear since the 1980s, and the reversible blousons are the most wearable form of the idea: one face printed silk twill, the other a quiet solid, so the jacket can be as loud or as calm as the day asks.
Here the print is Minéraux, a study of rough crystals and polished stones in violet, teal, rust and slate, with the title worked into the hem and the HERMÈS-PARIS signature near the pocket. The reverse is a pale butter shade in cotton and silk with two flap pockets. A khaki ribbed funnel collar, cuffs and hem frame both sides, and the zip carries a brown leather pull.
French size 40, with a relaxed, slightly dropped shoulder. Measured flat: chest 62 cm (24.4 in), length 56.5 cm (22.2 in), shoulder 47 cm (18.5 in), sleeve 58 cm (22.8 in).

Condition
- Graded as a near-unused vintage piece in Japan, with very little sign of wear.
- The base of the zip is slightly chipped (it closes and wears normally), and there is a light rub on the left shoulder of the plain side; both are shown in the photographs.
- Silk bright and clean; ribbing firm.

Authenticity & Care
Woven labels, size and composition labels, silk print registration, stitching and hardware are examined together and documented in Japan before dispatch.
