Addict Clothes' AVIAKIT double rider: a heavy black leather motorcycle jacket in the British tradition, made in Japan with a red-lined collar and an authentic early cut.
The Piece
Addict Clothes is a Tokyo workshop devoted to recreating British and European motorcycle clothing from the 1950s to the 1970s, with an obsessive approach to patterns, leathers and hardware. Its AVIAKIT line revives the name associated with classic British riding gear, and the double riders are the label's core pieces.
This jacket follows the classic double rider pattern: wide notched collar with snap studs, an off-centre front zip, slanted chest zip pocket, two lower zip pockets, zipped cuffs and a belted hem. The black leather has a pronounced natural grain that has begun to soften, and the collar shows a deep red lining.
Tagged size 34, with a chest of 43.5 cm across, shoulder 39 cm, sleeve 59 cm and length 58.5 cm, which suits a slim men's small or a women's medium. The cut is short in the body and high in the armhole, as a riding jacket should be.
It is a jacket to wear for decades; Addict leathers are made to break in and become personal.
