The Piece

A custom A-2 by The Real McCoy’s featuring hand-painted artwork inspired by the B-17 Flying Fortress “Memphis Belle.” The back panel presents the aircraft alongside its iconic pin-up figure in a vivid yet controlled palette that reflects the visual language of Second World War nose art. Unlike more severe or aggressive examples, the composition reflects the softer cultural dimension of wartime aviation, where identity, morale and storytelling were embedded into the aircraft themselves.

The back gathers the red-dress pin-up girl, a B-17 Flying Fortress in formation, “Memphis Belle” lettering and bomb tally markings beneath, balanced, colorful and emotionally approachable. Chest insignia supports the back narrative, and the whole reads as an integrated design rather than random patchwork.
