The Piece

Louis Vuitton has produced many miniature bags; very few arrive with their own oversized pink rabbit. The Nano Noé M11305 is less a conventional mini bag than a wearable scene: on one side the recognizable Monogram bucket form, beside it a red-pink Animogram rabbit with elongated ears, rounded limbs, an expressive face and LV Monogram-shaped details set into the eyes. Sun Yitian is known for a visual language of glossy, highly polished animal figures and objects that appear almost toy-like while functioning as contemporary art imagery. Rendered in saturated pink-red leather, the rabbit sits beside the Monogram body with its ears rising dramatically above the bag. Its large graphic eyes hold floral Monogram references like reflected symbols, quietly tying the surreal character back to the house, and its expression is friendly and slightly uncanny. It reads at once as bag charm, art toy, mascot and sculptural attachment. At approximately 13 cm wide and 15 cm high the Noé is deliberately petite, so the rabbit appears almost the same size as the bag and the two elements coexist rather than one decorating the other; from the side its sculptural depth becomes clear.

The miniature Noé keeps the cylindrical bucket architecture of the original: upright walls, rounded base, leather-bound opening and drawstring closure.
