Monogram Clouds turns one of fashion's most familiar patterns into something atmospheric. Instead of setting the Monogram against traditional brown canvas, Virgil Abloh placed the LV initials, quatrefoils and floral motifs inside an expansive field of blue, so the logos appear to drift through sky and cloud. Throughout his tenure Abloh revisited established house symbols, altering their scale, color, context and meaning rather than replacing them. Softened by the color treatment, the motif loses its rigid graphic edge, and the bag holds the characteristic Abloh tension between heritage pattern, technical backpack structure and dreamy color.
