Anrealage: Where Real Meets Unreal

Kunihiko Morinaga was born in Tokyo in 1980 and launched Anrealage in 2003. The name joins the words real, unreal and age, and the label’s work keeps returning to that gap: clothes that behave in ways cloth is not supposed to.

Morinaga graduated from Waseda University in social sciences while studying fashion design at Vantan Design Institute. The label first showed in Tokyo and has presented in Paris since 2014, where its technical experiments, including colour-changing and light-reactive fabrics, have become its calling card.

The collection will fill as the archive grows. Pieces from experimental seasons are made in small numbers, so condition, season and fabric behaviour are recorded in each description.
