Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Book Tote in its signature Dior Oblique, embroidered in deep bordeaux and beige. This is the large size, roomy enough for a laptop, and it has been personalised with the name “SAYAKA” across the back panel, a service Dior offers in its boutiques.

The Piece

Launched for Cruise 2019, the Book Tote turned the 1967 Dior Oblique monogram into an all-over embroidery and quickly became one of the house’s defining modern bags. Each one is embroidered rather than printed, which gives the motif its depth and slightly raised hand.

The bordeaux colourway is one of the most classic. The personalisation is an embroidered name in the band across the back; if you share the name, or simply enjoy the story, it makes the piece unmistakably individual, and it is reflected in the price.
