A navy swing top made with the Osaka label Talking About the Abstraction, with the Mihara Wayne sneaker embroidered on the chest and puff-printed across the back.
The Piece
Talking About the Abstraction, founded in Osaka in 2001 by Ichihara, became known for its uncannily detailed transfer prints before going quiet in 2020. It was Mihara Yasuhiro who invited the label back, and the collaboration that relaunched it in 2024 has continued in small, quickly sold runs.
This swing top, or Harrington, is cut from navy cotton with a point collar, full zip front, elasticated hem and cuffs. On the chest a small embroidery shows the Wayne sneaker, one of Mihara's signature original-sole models. The back carries a large rendering of the same shoe with the MMY and TATA signatures and the words Protect Heart With Reverie, with the sole picked out in raised puff print so it stands proud of the cloth. The MMY Ready to Wear label sits inside.
Size L wears true with room to layer a hoodie. It is a lighter, more wearable entry into Mihara's world, and the sneaker graphic makes it a natural partner for a pair of original-sole shoes.
