The spring-summer 2026 Blakey low in pale brushed suede on a puffed, hand-sculpted original sole, brand new in EU 43.
The Piece
Mihara Yasuhiro began as a shoe designer in 1996, and the original sole remains his most famous creation. He sculpts each sole shape in clay himself, producing the melted, wavering midsole that makes these sneakers recognisable from across a room. The Blakey takes the shell-toe basketball low as its starting point.
For spring-summer 2026 the Blakey received a puffier, more voluminous sole and a brushed suede upper that keeps the natural nap of the leather. This pair is pale grey suede with a black leather heel tab printed MMY, the stitched MMY Blakey box logo on the side, and broad off-white laces. The shell toe and sidewall carry a deliberate aged wash in the rubber, and the brown herringbone outsole bears the house stamp. Each pair shows slightly different character in the leather and the wash.
EU 43 equals JP 27.5 cm and approximately US men's 10. The sole adds noticeable height; the shoe suits cropped or wide trousers that show off its outline.
