The Piece
Alongside the melted-sole sneakers, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro has built a small cult around its Dolls bags: soft, sewn-leather animals that are part plush toy, part accessory, and wholly in keeping with a designer who has always treated humour as a serious design tool. Each one is pieced from panels of supple sheepskin like a hand-made stuffed animal, then fitted with a zip, silver-tone hardware and a nylon webbing strap so it can be worn across the body or hung from a bag.
Reference A14BG711 sits upright like a well-loved toy, with two long ears standing straight up, a softly seamed face, padded limbs and a round tail at the back. The zip runs down the spine to a small lined compartment, a silver-tone clasp and swivel hook sit at the nape, and the Maison Mihara Yasuhiro name is printed in white along the back.
At 23 cm tall it is the slimmest of the Dolls and very easy to carry, either across the body on its webbing strap or clipped to the handle of another bag as a charm with a purpose.
