Julius: Tatsuro Horikawa’s Tokyo Label
Tatsuro Horikawa is the designer behind Julius. Accounts differ on its start: one has it begin as an agency in the early 2000s and become Horikawa’s own clothing label in 2004. The label later showed in Paris, and in 2019 it added Julius Permanent, a line that reissues pieces from its early days. It is dated in the Encyclopedia beside the other Tokyo designers.
The collection will fill as the archive grows. Season, size and condition are recorded in each description, and the season on the inside tag is often the best guide to dating a piece.
