The Piece

The Sengoku period, Japan's age of warring states in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, gave the country its most enduring images of the mounted samurai. This Miyabi Musubi Zenbu sukajan sets such a warrior on horseback among cherry blossoms, joined by a skull with a punk inflection, in the wagara idiom of traditional Japanese pattern.
