HOUSTON USMC Sukajan, Eagle Globe & Anchor Semper Fidelis Embroidery, Black Satin, Vintage, Size M

An Eagle, Globe and Anchor in antique-gold thread, framed by USMC and Semper Fidelis, dominates the back of this vintage HOUSTON sukajan. Black satin, ivory piping and a Marine bulldog on the chest give it a disciplined military palette without losing the sheen and graphic impact of Japanese souvenir-jacket culture.

The Piece

The back presents a large interpretation of the Marine Corps emblem: a gold-winged eagle standing above a pale blue-gray globe with embroidered continents, a gold anchor and rope composition, an arched Semper Fidelis banner and ornamental gold USMC lettering. The Latin motto, traditionally translated as Always Faithful, gives the jacket its strongest symbolic note of loyalty, duty and steadfast commitment.

On the left chest an embroidered bulldog in a Marine campaign hat, a familiar emblem of toughness, tenacity and unit pride, faces the script inscription U.S. Marine Corps on the opposite side. The restrained gold, ivory and pale blue-gray threads stand crisply against the black ground, a formal appearance far from the multicolor maximalism of many dragon or tiger sukajan.

This is a civilian fashion and souvenir piece rather than a military-issued uniform.
