Hedi Slimane’s Celine biker for spring-summer 2022, reference 2EA91599E: an oversized double rider in black calfskin, with rows of white leather triangles running down the shoulders and sleeves.
The Piece
No designer of the last twenty-five years has owned the leather biker jacket quite like Hedi Slimane. At Dior Homme, at Saint Laurent and since 2018 at Celine, the rider has been the backbone of his menswear, and each season he adds a single detail that defines it. For spring-summer 2022 that detail was a graphic run of white triangles, like stylised teeth or studs, inlaid in leather down the shoulders and the full length of the sleeves.
The jacket is the Oversized Biker, cut in a soft black calfskin with a gentle grain. It has the full double-rider vocabulary: wide lapels with snap studs, an asymmetric front zip, a zipped chest pocket, two slanted zipped hand pockets, a D-ring, epaulettes, a belted waist and zipped cuffs, with double buckle adjusters at the back hips. Inside, it is lined in diamond-quilted cupro, padded with polyester, and finished with cotton pocket linings; the Celine Paris label sits at the neck. It was made in Italy.
The oversized cut gives a wide 56 cm chest and 50 cm shoulder on a tagged 44, so it fits a men’s small to medium with room for a layer beneath.
Triangle-inlay pieces from this season were produced in small numbers and are among the most graphic of Slimane’s Celine leathers.

- Leather supple with light creasing at the elbows and lapels.
