This Tedman reversible sukajan carries a Suikoden-themed yamabushi warrior with hinomaru embroidery on a velvet or velour face, in the tattoo-art manner of Japanese souvenir jackets.

Suikoden is the Japanese name for the Chinese classic Shuihu zhuan, known in English as Outlaws of the Marsh, whose outlaw heroes were celebrated in nineteenth-century ukiyo-e prints and became enduring subjects of Japanese tattooing. Yamabushi are the mountain ascetics of Shugendō, often pictured as fierce warrior-monks, and the hinomaru is the red sun disc of the Japanese flag. Together they give the jacket the heroic, graphic character that defines wa-gara sukajan.
