The Piece
A reversible Satori sukajan staging the classic confrontation of tiger and dragon, with a wave in the manner of Katsushika Hokusai’s ukiyo-e prints. The tora rules the earth and the ryū the water and sky; their duel stands for the balance of opposing forces and has defined the souvenir jacket since its postwar Yokosuka beginnings.
Satori draws the scene with the vocabulary of Japanese tattoo art, where the tiger-and-dragon composition is a perennial back piece.
