Monumental Fudo Myoo with Flame Mandorla (Approx. 142 cm)
A monumental Fudo Myoo devotional statue conceived for temple or hall display, presented with a carved flame mandorla and the classic sword-and-rope iconography associated with the esoteric Wisdom Kings. At approximately 142 cm in height, the work is architectural in scale—meant to govern a space, not merely decorate it.
Who is this deity?
Fudo Myoo (Acala) is a central protector figure in Japanese esoteric Buddhism. He embodies immovable resolve: fierce compassion that confronts obstacles directly. In art, he is typically shown with a sword (wisdom) and a rope (disciplined containment), often surrounded by flames (transformation and purification).
Iconography and Presence
The sword symbolizes discriminating wisdom that cuts through obstruction; the rope represents disciplined containment—binding what must be restrained, drawing what must be guided. The flame mandorla is the visual doctrine of transformation, the burning away of ignorance into clarity. Temple-scale works that succeed often read quietly severe: authoritative without being noisy.
Dimensions (As Listed)

Material and Classification
Wood species is described in listing text but may be inconsistent. For collector safety, the material is treated as unverified unless confirmed in writing. Classification is conservative: vintage temple-style devotional sculpture, without an antique claim absent documented provenance.
Collector’s Resonance
This work is for the collector who buys presence rather than ornament—someone building a threshold moment in a private hall, studio, or institutional setting where a single icon can govern the room.
Shipping and Handling (Freight-Class)
This piece requires freight-class packing. A rigid crate is recommended, with custom internal supports to protect the halo and attributes. EMS is not feasible at this size.
