The Piece

A striking Japanese sukajan-style souvenir jacket, this Miyabi Musubi piece brings together martial imagery, cherry blossoms, skull iconography, tiger symbolism and richly layered floral jacquard in one reversible statement. One side centers on a powerful dark war-horse beneath a glowing moon, surrounded by falling sakura and bold gold kanji; the front answers with a skull among blossoms, a spear and a tiger, a tattoo-inspired balance of beauty, strength and impermanence.

The reverse is more tonal yet equally sophisticated: an all-over dark floral ground with a large coiling dragon-like figure emerging through cherry blossoms across the back. It is moodier and more textural, with the same theatrical impact, giving the jacket two personalities, one bold and symbolic, the other brooding.
