This Edo-period wooden sculpture depicts Senju Kannon, the Thousand-Armed manifestation of the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Carved in wood and finished with traces of gilding and polychromy, the figure stands upon a lotus base and is framed by an elaborate mandorla.

Senju Kannon embodies boundless compassion, symbolized through multiple arms that reach in all directions to alleviate suffering. Sculptures of this scale were created for temple halls and major devotional settings, serving as focal points for ritual and contemplation.

Wear, surface losses, repairs, and patina are consistent with age and prolonged devotional use, affirming authenticity as a historic religious sculpture.
