Chanel Baroque Pearl and CC Filigree Clip-On Earrings, 1980s

A large baroque pearl veiled by a gilt CC and framed in lacy filigree. Chanel clip-on earrings from the 1980s, 3.5 cm wide and bold enough to carry an outfit on their own.

The Piece

The faux pearl is set unevenly, as a baroque pearl would be, and the double C is cast over it in gilt so the lustre shows through the letters. The frame is pierced like lace and finished with a scalloped edge.

Each earring weighs about 16 g on a hinged clip, so these are made for an evening rather than a long day.
