The Piece

The Panthère, first introduced in the early twentieth century, has remained Cartier's signature expression of elegance, power and artistic daring, and the Animaux de Cartier bestiary stands among the most storied chapters of French high jewelry. Across decades the maison's jewelers refined the motif into lifelike sculpture, shaping precious metal, applying pavé diamonds with meticulous precision and placing gemstones to animate expression. Panthère high-jewelry watches are hand-set, hand-shaped and produced in very limited quantities.

Rendered entirely in 18K white gold, the panther embraces the circular case in a dynamic pose. Diamonds are pavé-set across the case, the bracelet and the sculptural panther, and the emerald eyes add a striking note of color and personality. A minimalist silver-tone sunburst dial lets the diamonds take center stage, and a slim quartz movement preserves the purity of form.

The case measures approximately 33mm, with a lug width of 16mm and a bracelet length of approximately 17cm; the watch weighs approximately 84g.
