The Piece

The Panthère 1925 is among the maison's most sculptural horological jewels, drawing on the Panthère design language of the 1920s Art Deco period and on the curved silhouettes of twentieth-century haute joaillerie. It bridges fine jewelry and watchmaking: the panther, Cartier's most iconic symbol, is rendered here as a full pavé-set diamond head and bezel, accented by an emerald eye.

The case is solid K18 yellow gold, marked K18YG, measuring 30mm in width, 29mm in length including lugs and 6mm thick. The ivory guilloché dial maintains Cartier's balance against the brilliance of the stones, and a Swiss quartz movement keeps the profile slim.

The original ivory/beige crocodile strap softly complements the diamonds and fits a wrist of approximately 15 cm, adjustable. A new Cartier replacement strap in beige smooth calf accompanies the watch, together with service documentation for the battery replacement and maintenance.
