A vintage reversible souvenir jacket from Cropped Heads, built around hebi, the snake, the dragon and samurai imagery. The sukajan grew from embroidered jackets made for servicemen in Yokosuka after the war and was later adopted by Japanese street, punk and rockabilly scenes; this example sits squarely in that lineage.
In Japanese iconography the snake is linked to protection, renewal and the deity Benzaiten, while the dragon embodies elemental power over water and sky, and the samurai stands for discipline and martial honor, a trio long favored in Japanese tattoo and souvenir-jacket art.
