The Piece

The collaboration translates Kusama's celebrated dot vocabulary into Louis Vuitton's historic Monogram language. The Painted Dots are intentionally irregular in placement and appearance, varying in scale and spacing to give the surface an expressive, almost hand-applied quality. Rather than covering the Monogram completely, they coexist with it: the LV initials and floral motifs remain visible beneath and around the color, so Monogram flowers disappear behind dots, emerge between colors and create a constantly shifting surface as the bag moves.
