Louis Vuitton × Kansai Yamamoto Portefeuille Chain M67256 Cartera de hombro con cadena y rostro Kabuki Monogram

The Portefeuille Chain M67256 turns the whole flap of a long wallet into a stylized Kabuki face: white sweeps, heavy black brows, yellow color and a single pink-red eye over classic Monogram canvas. From Louis Vuitton's collaboration with Kansai Yamamoto, it is offered in attractive pre-owned condition with box and dust bag.

The Piece

Some Louis Vuitton collaborations decorate a familiar object; this one transforms it. The M67256 Portefeuille Chain takes the structure of a long wallet and turns the entire front into a theatrical face: bold white eye shapes, strong black brows, acid-yellow accents and a vivid pink-red inner eye, all over classic brown Monogram canvas. The composition is instantly graphic and tied to the visual language of Japanese Kabuki theatre, a piece meant to be seen.

Kansai Yamamoto holds a special place in Japanese fashion history, remembered for color, theatricality, exaggerated graphics and a fearless ability to combine Japanese visual culture with global pop fashion. The Louis Vuitton collaboration carried that energy into the house's travel and leather-goods vocabulary, treating Monogram canvas not as an untouchable heritage surface but as a stage for Kabuki-inspired faces, masks, expressive eyes, dramatic color blocking and bold character imagery. Kabuki itself is built on exaggeration: expression is intensified, gesture becomes symbolic, color carries meaning and faces become visual architecture. Here the eyes communicate personality rather than realism, the brows are graphic rather than anatomical, and the yellow reads as if painted onto a stage mask.

Large white forms sweep across the Monogram surface and frame the heavy brows and eyes, yellow paint-like sections supply the facial color, and the deep pink-red accent within one eye gives the design a deliberately asymmetric energy. Because the artwork spans almost the entire flap, the wallet reads like a miniature graphic panel: from across a room it is a face, while up close the LV Monogram, leather texture, stitching and layered color come into view. The composition is deliberate, the brows pulling the eye inward and the Monogram grid quietly holding everything together, which keeps the piece firmly in the realm of fashion. Black leather along the structured edges and side sections sharpens the silhouette and contrasts with the warm brown canvas and pale graphics.

A long shoulder configuration combining Monogram material with metal chain hardware lets the piece work beyond a wallet, moving with a jewelry-like swing; the slim profile suits evening use, travel and events. The interior is organized as a wallet rather than a handbag, with six card slots, one open interior pocket, one zippered compartment and additional flat storage areas for cards, currency, small documents, keys, compact personal items and some smartphones depending on dimensions and case thickness. It works best with restrained clothing such as black tailoring, white shirts, denim, dark knitwear, minimal dresses, cream outerwear or monochrome evening looks, and can also join a more maximalist wardrobe of Japanese streetwear or archival designer fashion.
