Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme Silk Long Jacket with Ocean Print and NO PLASTIC Message, Blue, Size 2, HK-J75-452

A long, fluid jacket of printed silk in sea blues and violets, overlaid with fine white line drawing and a hand-lettered plea for pure water, with an opening at the shoulder closed by a single button.

The Piece

Yohji Yamamoto has long used his Pour Homme runway to carry words: lines of poetry, slogans and fragments of his own writing printed or embroidered onto tailoring. This jacket belongs to that tradition, and to a family of printed silk pieces identified by the HK product code prefix.

The silk is printed with a watery wash of teal, turquoise, violet and slate, crossed by fine white line work that suggests waves, nets and currents. Across the front runs a handwritten phrase about wanting to drink pure water, and near the hem the words NO PLASTIC. The cut is a long, collarless jacket with a two-button front, flap pockets and a distinctive opening along the shoulder seam, fastened with a button, so the sleeve can fall away from the body.

It is tagged size 2, with product code HK-J75-452; the season has not been confirmed. Only three photographs are available at present; further images of labels and details can be supplied on request.

The length reaches the knee and the silk moves freely, so it wears like a summer coat over a simple black shirt and wide trousers, or as a robe-like layer in warm weather.
