A Y-3 souvenir jacket made for the Japan national football team partnership, royal blue satin with ivory sleeves, a red-embroidered back crest of a white bird of prey and 'Japan' script, reversing to plain black.
The Piece
The sukajan, the embroidered satin souvenir jacket first made for American servicemen in post-war Yokosuka, is one of the most Japanese garments there is. Y-3 adopted it for the capsule that accompanied the label's partnership with the Japan Football Association, and this jacket is attributed to that collection; its production label is dated 2024.
The front is a vivid royal blue satin with cream raglan sleeves, a black rib collar, cuffs and hem, and twin flame motifs in crimson embroidery on the chest. Ivory arrow-shaped piping frames the slanted pockets. The back carries the classic sukajan composition reworked: a white bird of prey in flight over red peonies, 'Japan' in cursive above and the Y-3 wordmark below. Turned inside out, it becomes a quiet black satin bomber with a woven label at the hem.
The fit is the generous Y-3 cut; XS here measures 58.5 cm across the chest and 62.5 cm long, so it will suit a small or medium frame.
Football, Yohji and the sukajan in one garment make this a natural piece for collectors of Japanese souvenir jackets and Y-3 alike. Please read the condition notes closely.

Condition
- Pre-owned with visible wear.
- Noticeable fraying to the satin at the shoulders and slight fraying on the front.
- A small mark on the back panel near the embroidery.
- Black reverse side shows no notable damage.
- Embroidery complete and bright.
