Vintage Reversible Velvet and Satin Souvenir Jacket, 1950s, Stag and Mount Fuji, TTS Zip

A reversible souvenir jacket: black velvet with an embroidered stag and Mount Fuji, and a cream satin side with a tiger and “Japan” script.

The Piece

A rare velvet-faced example: on the black side a stag and doe in cream thread stand before a stand of trees and a white Mount Fuji, with two stag heads facing across the zip.

The reverse is a quilted cream satin carrying a tiger and cursive “Japan” lettering, worn soft and toned with age. It is presented here as found, with the marks of seventy years.
