The full Rebel Gods hybrid set from Undercoverism Spring/Summer 2022: a reversible MA-1 that turns from cut-up grey sweatshirt collage to plain olive flight jacket, with matching patchwork joggers, both deadstock.

The Piece

Undercoverism is the line Jun Takahashi uses for his most direct streetwear ideas, and the Rebel Gods pieces of Spring/Summer 2022 are among its best known. The concept is pure Undercover: classic garments cut apart and reassembled so that two different garments occupy one body.

The jacket's sweatshirt face is a collage of charcoal and light-grey jersey panels joined along curved seams, with college-style lettering, crest graphics and the REBEL Gods script sliced through the composition. Turn it inside out and it becomes an olive nylon MA-1 with ribbed collar, cuffs and hem, a utility sleeve pocket and an undercoverism logo at the back of the neck. The joggers repeat the patchwork, with the crest at one thigh and REBEL Gods down the other leg, finished with drawcord waist and cuffed ankles.

Jacket UI1B4201 and pants UI1B4501, both tagged size 3 and made in Japan. The jacket is cotton with a nylon reverse; the pants are cotton with cotton-polyurethane rib. Size 3 is roughly a men's large: the jacket is short and wide, the joggers tapered.

Sets like this rarely stay together once they reach the resale circuit, which is what makes a matched, deadstock pair worth having.

Condition

• Deadstock, unworn.
• Raw edges, uneven yarns and fraying at panel edges are intentional and part of the reconstructed design.
• Prints clean; the care label notes that hard friction can lift the print.
