A cropped Undercover linen jacket printed with a dreamlike painting of floating figures, faces and clouds in turquoise, ivory and olive, lined in cotton and silk.

The Piece

Takahashi has often borrowed from painting, and this spring-summer jacket carries one of his most painterly prints: elongated turquoise figures, upturned faces, a hand pouring liquid and drifting clouds over a pale sky, with something of the surrealists and of Hieronymus Bosch about it. We have not been able to confirm the exact season, and present it on its own terms.

The cut is short and boxy, ending at the waist, with a notch lapel, single-breasted button front, flap pockets and buttoned cuffs. The linen is lightly slubbed, so the print has the texture of a painted canvas. Inside, the jacket is lined in cotton and silk and carries the Undercover Jun Takahashi label.

Composition is 100% linen with a 70% cotton and 30% silk lining; made in Japan. It is graded as near new.

Tagged size 3, it sits wide at the shoulder and short in the body, which suits women as an oversized cropped jacket and works for men as a statement layer over a high-waisted trouser.
