The red Autumn/Winter 2023 Undercover varsity made with artist Kamilla Tolno: chenille A WOLF WILL NEVER BE A PET across the back, CHAOS down a black cowhide sleeve and a white rose at the chest.
The Piece
For Autumn/Winter 2023 Jun Takahashi worked with the artist Kamilla Tolno and her Chaos Balance motif, and the resulting varsity jackets became some of the season's most sought pieces. The slogan on the back, A WOLF WILL NEVER BE A PET, is pure Undercover: a quiet statement of independence set in old-school chenille lettering.
This is the red colourway, the boldest of the release. The wool body is paired with black cowhide sleeves; one sleeve carries CHAOS in cream chenille letters running from shoulder to cuff. A white chenille rose with a green leaf sits at the left chest, a small embroidered version of the slogan appears at the right, and the striped rib collar, cuffs and hem frame it all. Inside is a quilted lining with the UNDERCOVER JUN TAKAHASHI label.
Tagged size 3, roughly a men's large, made in Japan. Body wool 96% polyurethane 4%; rib acrylic 70% wool 30%; sleeves cowhide; lining cupro.
It is a jacket meant to be seen from behind, and it does its work the moment its wearer walks away.

- Chenille lettering and rose patch full and clean.
