The navy colourway of Undercover’s Autumn-Winter 2001 D.A.V.F. varsity jacket, navy wool with navy cowhide sleeves, chenille graffiti lettering and diamond-and-crossbones emblems.
The Piece
Autumn-Winter 2001, titled D.A.V.F. for Decorated Armed Voluntary Forces, mixed military uniform with ornament: lace, pearls, jewel motifs and insignia. Japanese collectors still call it the jewel season, and its varsity jacket, with diamond and crossbones emblems on leather sleeves, is one of the most recognisable Undercover pieces of all.
This navy version is tonal and quietly menacing. The body is navy wool melton with a full zip, leather-trimmed slanted pockets and a striped rib collar, cuffs and hem in navy and cream. The navy cowhide sleeves carry the large chenille lettering outlined in ivory, the diamond-and-crossbones emblem near each cuff, and quilted padding at the elbows taken from motorcycle leathers.
Inside, the printed label reads Under Cover Jun Takahashi 2001-2002 Autumn-Winter D.A.V.F. Decorated Armed Voluntary Forces, with the jewel emblem, alongside the white Under Cover label, model S322, size Medium, made in Japan. Composition: body wool 90%, nylon 10%; sleeves cowhide 100%; lining cupro 100%.
Size Medium wears boxy and slightly cropped, like a modern small to medium.

Condition
- Pre-owned archive piece with general signs of wear.
- Scuffing in places on the leather sleeves, shown in the close-up images.
- Some fraying to the brand label; printed season label shows surface crazing.
- Wool body and chenille patches in good order.
