A long, close-fitting Pleats Please dress printed with rows of striped hot-air balloons in pink, teal, mustard and plum across a deep purple lattice.
The Piece
The balloon print is one of the line's more whimsical motifs: dozens of hand-drawn envelopes, each striped or dotted differently, stacked in a diamond grid so the pattern seems to rise as the pleats move. Like most Pleats Please prints it is placed before the garment is pleated, which gives the image its fine, shimmering texture.
The shape is simple and flattering, with a scoop neck, short cap sleeves and a long straight body that narrows slightly towards the hem. It is a dress that photographs beautifully and needs very little styling.
On the body it follows the figure without clinging, falling to mid-calf on most heights. The purple ground works with black, grey or a pale pink layer.
The size label is not present on the garment; measurements are given below and correspond roughly to the line's size 2 to 3.
