A right-handed BERES MG700 set from Honma’s Sakata works, 8 clubs with Honma 2-star carbon shafts in regular flex in the two-star grade.
The Piece
Since 1959 Honma has made every club in Sakata, in Yamagata prefecture, and BERES is the series that carries the house’s full craft: forged heads, hand polishing and carbon shafts wound on site. The star grade printed on the shaft tells the tier at a glance, from two-star standard shafts to three-star premium builds and the gold-plated four- and five-star editions.
The MG700 of 2010 was the entry to the BERES line in its day, with a large head, a wide sole and the ARMRQ UD shaft. This set runs 6 to 11 plus AW and SW, 8 clubs in all, right-handed, on Honma 2-star carbon shafts in regular flex.
