A left-handed BERES IS-06 set from Honma’s Sakata works, 8 clubs with ARMRQ X 47 shafts in stiff-regular flex in the three-star grade.
The Piece
Since 1959 Honma has made every club in Sakata, in Yamagata prefecture, and BERES is the series that carries the house’s full craft: forged heads, hand polishing and carbon shafts wound on site. The star grade printed on the shaft tells the tier at a glance, from two-star standard shafts to three-star premium builds and the gold-plated four- and five-star editions.
The IS-06, launched in 2018, is a forged iron with a thin L-cup face and a wide sole, the BERES design for players who want both distance and a soft feel. This set runs 6 to 11 plus AW and SW, 8 clubs in all, left-handed, on ARMRQ X 47 shafts in stiff-regular flex.
