For the left-handed player: 9 BERES IS-03 irons in the two-star grade, Honma 2-star carbon shafts, regular flex.
The Piece
Honma’s Sakata factory makes BERES irons the slow way: forged heads, hand finishing, and ARMRQ shafts wound in-house rather than bought in. Each set carries a star grade, two stars being the entry to the line, three stars a lighter premium shaft with gold accents, four stars and above adding 24-karat gold plates and rings.
The IS-03 of 2014 is a forged cavity iron with a slot in the sole that lets the face flex, pairing a soft feel with easy height. This set runs 5 to 11 plus AW and SW, 9 clubs in all, left-handed, on Honma 2-star carbon shafts in regular flex.
