A Hermès Birkin 30 in shiny Niloticus crocodile, dyed Bleu Marine and fitted with gold hardware, the exotic Birkin in its most classic and versatile combination.

The Piece

Since its creation in 1984 the Birkin has become the defining luxury handbag, and the exotic versions, made in very small numbers by the most experienced artisans, sit at the summit of the category. The 30 is the size many collectors consider the most elegant: substantial enough for daily use, compact enough to carry in the crook of the arm.

This example is in shiny Niloticus crocodile, confirmed by the two-dot mark beside the Hermès Paris Made in France stamp. The colour is Bleu Marine, a deep navy that reads almost black indoors and comes alive in daylight, and the glaze is high. The large belly scales run symmetrically down the front and back, and the hardware is gold.

Inside, the bag is lined in chèvre with an open pocket and a zip pocket. The B stamp dates it to 2023, and it comes with box, dust bag, cadena, clochette and two keys.

At about 29 by 23 cm with a 15 cm gusset, it carries a wallet, phone, sunglasses and a small pouch with ease.
