Gucci’s hooded teddy jacket 706419 XJETL: a wool-blend fleece woven with the jumbo GG in navy, joined at the waist by the green and red Web stripe to a quilted nylon lower body.

The Piece

Under Alessandro Michele, Gucci rediscovered its 1970s logo as something tactile, weaving the GG into knits, velvets and, here, a deep wool-pile fleece. The result is one of the most recognisable Gucci outerwear designs of recent years, warm and graphic in equal measure.

Reference 706419 XJETL combines three fabrics. The upper body and sleeves are a camel teddy fleece of 80% wool, with an oversized GG worked into the pile in navy. A band of the Web stripe, green-red-green, crosses chest and back, and below it the body switches to a diamond-quilted camel nylon. A nylon hood with a dark drawcord, a covered zip and snap front, and ribbed cuffs and hem finish it. The Gucci label, made in Italy, sits on the inside.

The shape is relaxed and slightly cropped, with a 62 cm chest and wide 53 cm shoulder, easy over a sweatshirt.

It is a cold-weather piece that wears like a hoodie, comfortable enough for every day yet unmistakably Gucci from across the street. The quilted nylon at the hips and the nylon hood keep it practical in wind and drizzle, while the fleece keeps the warmth where it matters. Tagged L, it fits a men’s large comfortably and works for anyone who likes a roomy cut.
