Japonista is a curated destination for Japanese cultural objects and garments, selected for integrity, presence, and long-term collector value.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer international shipping with careful packing standards designed to protect delicate textiles and cultural objects.

What does museum-grade mean on your site?

Museum-grade refers to coherence and integrity: materials, technique, and condition align with a convincing internal logic and cultural presence.

How do you describe condition on vintage and antiques?

We describe condition with a collector’s lens, noting material aging, patina, and structural integrity so you can make confident decisions.

How should I care for Japanese vintage textiles and embroidery?

Avoid harsh light, humidity swings, and compression. Store with breathable protection and handle gently to preserve structure and surface.

How do I start collecting thoughtfully?

Begin with one category you truly connect with, learn its visual language, and expand slowly. Depth of understanding matters more than volume.

A single oversized pearl on a black gathered elastic: the Chanel hair tie that turns a ponytail into an accessory.

The Piece

The 35 mm faux pearl is lustrous and warm-toned, set with a small gold-tone CC on its face, and sits on a black fabric scrunchie about 9.5 cm long. Worn at the nape or around a bun, the pearl reads from across the room.

Made in France. Comes without box.

Authenticity & Care

The season stamp, the weight and finish of the metal, the plating, the stone setting and the clasp are examined together and documented in Japan before dispatch. Every piece carries the Japonista authenticity guarantee. Store it flat in its box, away from perfume and moisture; crystals, glass and faux pearls are cleaned with a soft dry cloth, never soaked.

Delivery from Japan

Packed by hand in Japan and shipped insured and tracked by EMS or an equivalent express service. Import duties and taxes, where applicable, are payable on arrival. Every sale is final; please ask anything before you buy, and see our published policy.

Considered offers are welcome through Send an Offer, and each one is reviewed personally.
