Chanel Beret Brooch with Bow, Gilt Metal, Early Vintage

A beret tilted at its jaunty angle with a bow trailing from the brim. A Chanel brooch in softly hammered gilt, 5.6 cm across, from the studio’s early vintage run of Parisian emblems.

The Piece

The beret belongs to the same wardrobe as the boater, the jacket and the camellia: small, Parisian, and instantly legible as Chanel. The crown here is modelled with a soft fold and the bow is cast in the round.

The reverse bears the Chanel stamp and a sturdy pin with a safety catch.
