A Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme flight blouson in black nylon, cut wide and short with ruched sleeves, a wool-padded body and a detachable navy pile collar, product code HO-Y05-608.
The Piece
The flight jacket is one of the military shapes Yamamoto returns to most often, and Pour Homme versions are prized because they keep the utility of the original while changing its proportions. This one widens the body and drops the shoulder so the sleeves balloon, gathered in ruched sections down the arm before closing at knitted cuffs.
The shell is a smooth black nylon with a soft sheen, and the jacket is padded with wool rather than synthetic fill, which gives it warmth without bulk. The large pointed collar in dense navy acrylic pile is detachable, so the jacket can be worn as a clean bomber in milder weather. A long front zip with a signature metal pull, side pockets with snaps and a knitted waistband finish it.
The product code is HO-Y05-608; the season is to be confirmed. The composition label lists nylon shell and lining, a wool filling and an acrylic pile collar, and the jacket is made in Japan.
Tagged size 2, it measures 48.5 cm across the shoulder, 65 cm across the chest and 58 cm long, a short, very full cut that sits at the hip. It will suit a men's medium to large and layers easily over a hoodie or heavy knit.
