A long two-button jacket in pale linen and cotton, its notch lapels and collar cut in charcoal wool, supplied with a collarless quilted liner that also wears as a jacket on its own.

The Piece

Contrast is a recurring device in Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme tailoring: a lapel in a different cloth, a lining that becomes a garment, a summer fabric pressed into autumn service. This colour combination jacket does all three, and it does so with the quiet precision that keeps Pour Homme tailoring in demand long after each season closes.

The outer jacket is cut long, to mid-thigh, in a 60% linen, 40% cotton cloth in a pale oat shade, with notch lapels and collar in a charcoal wool and cotton blend. It has two buttons, flap pockets, a single back vent and a cupro lining. The detachable liner is a collarless, quilted jacket in deep brown with patch pockets and a two-button front, padded with polyester, which can be worn alone as a light layer.

Both pieces carry Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme labels; the jacket is tagged 2 and made in Japan, with product code HL-J45-823. The piece was offered as part of an autumn/winter delivery; the exact year has not been confirmed.
