Undercoverism Turquoise Cowhide Rider Jacket, UISM Rebel Clothes Label, Burgundy Lining, Size 3

An Undercoverism rider jacket in turquoise cowhide, cut on the classic asymmetric-zip British pattern with a burgundy lining and the We Make Noise Not Clothes slogan stamped in gold on the chest.

The Piece

Jun Takahashi’s riders sit at the centre of Undercover’s identity. He has returned to the British motorcycle jacket again and again since the 1990s, and the house’s cowhide riders are now benchmarks of Japanese leather tailoring. In black they are a uniform; in turquoise they are something rarer and more joyful, a colour that reads as late-1970s London rather than biker.

The jacket is cut from cowhide in a bright turquoise, with an asymmetric front zip, snap-down lapels, a coin pocket, three zip pockets on the front, zip cuffs and buckled side adjusters. The back is clean with a shoulder yoke and a half belt. Inside, a burgundy cotton lining with cupro sleeves, and the We Make Noise Not Clothes slogan stamped in gold on the left chest.

The neck label is the UISM Made by UCLAB Rebel Clothes patch with a size 3 tab; the care label reads Undercover Co. Ltd, made in Japan, 09203, size 3, cowhide surface. The turquoise colourway is believed to belong to the Lightning rider series of around Spring-Summer 2015, but we present that as an attribution only.

Size 3 is the sweet spot for most men. The leather is supple and will continue to mould to the wearer.

Condition

• Pre-owned in very good condition.
• Cuffs and zip ends free of wear; the gold chest stamp is clear.
• One small ink-like mark on the front panel, shown in the final image.
• Natural creasing to the leather consistent with light use.
