The Piece
In November 2022 Undercover released a small capsule with Netflix built around the Hellfire Club, the Dungeons and Dragons society at the heart of the fourth season of Stranger Things. Takahashi, who has spent thirty years dressing rock and metal in couture terms, treated Eddie Munson’s wardrobe with complete seriousness, and the denim and leather jacket was the centrepiece of the drop.
The construction is a layered hybrid. A sleeveless Levi’s denim trucker, with red tab, chest flap pockets and button front, sits over a black lambskin rider with stand collar, snap tab and zip cuffs, so the two read as one garment. The back of the denim carries a large embroidered patch of the Hellfire Club demon with dice, sword and mace. The left cuff is printed Stranger Things Undercover 2022, and the inner collar carries the Undercover Jun Takahashi label.
The piece is unworn and comes with its original Undercover tag, reference UC2B9212. Retail in Japan was ¥297,000.
Size 4 corresponds to a men’s large to extra large and allows layering under the leather. It is a crossover piece with real collector depth for both Undercover and Stranger Things audiences.
