PING 1-A 50th Anniversary Gold Putter, No. 0183 of 1,000, Wood Case, Certificate

The putter that gave the brand its name, plated in gold for the company’s fiftieth year. Number 0183 of 1,000, new and still in its shrink film, with the wood display case and signed certificate.

The Piece

The 1-A was the first putter made by Karsten Solheim, whose club struck the ball with a ping that became the company’s name. For 2009, fifty years after the founding, the original design was cast again and finished in gold.

Only 1,000 were made. This one is numbered 0183, and it has never been used: the head still carries its factory film, and it sits in a wood display case with a brass plaque, accompanied by the certificate of authenticity.
