A long double-breasted motorcycle coat in glossy black PVC, cut with the generous shoulders and storm details of a vintage dispatch rider's coat.
The Piece
Mihara Yasuhiro has always drawn on biker clothing, and his motorcycle coats translate the old waxed and rubberised riding coats into something sharper. This version is coated in a glossy polyvinyl chloride over a polyester and rayon base, so it reads like patent leather while staying lighter and weatherproof.
It is cut double-breasted with wide notched lapels that can be fastened up to the throat, snap closures throughout, two large flap pockets at the hips plus a chest pocket, snap-adjustable cuffs and side vents. The coat is unlined, showing a pale grey knit backing inside, and carries the 1 MMY 3 tab and the house Modified patch with its name, address and password lines.
Size 44 corresponds to a small to medium and the coat falls to around 106 cm, below the knee on most wearers. Worn open over black trousers and boots, it has real presence; buttoned up, it keeps off the rain.
