Murakami's reinterpretation of the LV alphabet, set on a scaled-down Vuitton trunk. The Monogram Jewelry Box M92477 carries the Character L, an oversized letter in camouflage colors with expressive hands and a Murakami flower sprouting from its top, over a hardsided case in exceptionally clean condition.

The Piece

Murakami's letterforms are among the most beloved motifs of the Louis Vuitton × Takashi Murakami era, blending the Maison's heritage with his unmistakable palette. Here the oversized LV letter comes alive in camouflage colors, with expressive hands and a cheerful Murakami flower at the top, a burst of color and personality against the brown Monogram.

The collaboration, launched under Marc Jacobs, brought bold color, animation, humor and Japanese pop-art vibrancy to the heritage Monogram. Murakami's flowers, cherries, pandas and letterforms bridged fine art and high fashion and transformed the Maison's global identity; the collaboration is now discontinued and regarded as historically significant.

The jewelry case follows classic Vuitton trunk construction, with reinforced leather corners, studded edging and gold-tone hardware that recall the Maison's trunk-making history. Compact yet solid and sculptural, it carries the gravitas of a small travel trunk on a vanity, in a dressing room or in a collector's showcase, and its interior, divided by two partitions (shikiri), makes it a working jewelry box rather than a showpiece alone.
