Louis Vuitton Speedy 40 Bandouliere M14137 Multicolor Monogram Vinyl-Coated Canvas Travel Bag

One of Louis Vuitton's most recognizable travel silhouettes turned luminous: this Speedy 40 Bandouliere M14137 sets an embossed Monogram beneath a glossy vinyl coating of emerald, turquoise, violet, fuchsia, orange and red that seems to shift with the light. Near-unused and complete with its full accessory set.

The Piece

The defining feature of the M14137 is its vinyl-coated Monogram canvas. Rather than color printed onto standard coated canvas, the treatment forms a glossy, translucent surface through which the embossed Monogram remains visible, building layers of depth: a luminous outer sheen, rich multicolor pigmentation, embossed motifs and subtle variation with lighting and viewing angle. Broad washes of emerald green, turquoise, blue, violet, magenta, pink, orange, red and yellow-green move across the front and rear panels instead of a fixed repeating palette, and the Monogram appears and disappears through them, giving the bag an almost liquid, art-object character.

The Speedy 40 structure is intact: rounded top profile, dual rolled leather handles, full-length zip, structured leather piping, reinforced leather side tabs, padlock hardware and a removable, adjustable shoulder strap. The generous 40 cm body gives the color treatment room to express itself, far more dramatic than smaller Speedy formats. Natural-toned leather runs through the handles, piping, strap, side fittings and hanging accessories, its pale tone separating the saturated body from the gold-tone metalwork of the zippers, handle attachments, strap clasps, padlock, key, key cover and name-tag fittings.

Carried by the rolled handles, it is the traditional Speedy; with the strap attached, adjustable from approximately 96 cm to 120 cm, it moves to shoulder or longer crossbody wear. The spacious interior suits travel, weekends and larger everyday loads, and the flexible canvas offers more usable capacity than the clean profile suggests.

The Speedy began as a compact interpretation of the house's larger travel luggage, and its strength has always been proportion. The M14137 keeps that architecture while letting color and surface take over: the silhouette supplies heritage, the surface supplies spectacle. For collectors who already own classic Monogram, Damier or leather Speedy variants, it is an entirely different proposition, best worn against black tailoring, white shirting, cream knitwear, neutral trench coats or monochrome travel dressing.

Condition
