A padded sky-blue bomber from Pharrell Williams's Louis Vuitton, its jacquard face cut into feathery fil coupe palm trees, with an ivory cotton hood and Monogram-quilted lining.
The Piece
Pharrell Williams's Louis Vuitton returns often to warm-weather fantasy, with resort motifs and island light translated into technical fabrics. Fil coupe, a jacquard in which floating threads are cut to leave a fringed surface, gives this jacket its texture: palm trees seem to rustle across the whole body.
The shell is a rayon and polyester jacquard in powder blue, the palms in frayed white thread. It is lightly padded, with an ivory cotton jersey hood with drawcords, a front zip, flap pockets and thick ribbed wool cuffs and hem in cream. Inside, a pale blue lining is quilted with oversized Monogram flowers. Made in Italy.
Size 54 wears full and blousy, the ribbed hem gathering the body into a classic bomber line. It is a striking but easy jacket for cool evenings, best over white or navy.
