The smallest object in the Kabuki collection: a folding Monogram pocket mirror, the actor’s red face on one side and three daruma on the other, with a red lining and a glass mirror inside.
The Piece
In 2018 Nicolas Ghesquière invited Kansai Yamamoto, the designer behind David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust wardrobe, to reinterpret his kabuki faces and daruma dolls across the Cruise collection. The pieces were sold for a single season and have been collected ever since.
The Miroir Nomade folds like a slim book. Outside, Monogram canvas carries the kabuki actor across one cover and the daruma trio across the other; inside, a red lining holds a glass mirror on one leaf and a flat pocket on the other.
Measures about 9.5 × 6.8 cm (3.7 × 2.7 in) closed. Reference GI0235 / CX0197; made in Italy. Mirror only.

Condition
- Graded B in Japan: a carried piece with rubbing to the daruma print and cracking of the edge paint.
- Scratches and marks to the mirror glass; rubbing inside; a faint stored odour.

Authenticity & Care
Date code, Monogram alignment, heat stamp, vachetta trim, stitching and hardware engraving are examined together and documented in Japan before dispatch.
